If you want your HTML or XHTML to display smoothly across browsers and platforms, you need to use a little finesse with non-ASCII characters such as curly quotes, or “äâ€? or “™.â€? If you view source on this page, you’ll see I specified those last two characters by writing “äâ€? and “™.â€?
Sequences like “™â€? are called entity references, and their sole benefit is that they can be expressed in plain ASCII. HTML includes heaps of entity references to stand in for various accented and otherwise special characters not found in ASCII. Entity references all start with ampersands, and end with semicolons.
MT Blogroll provides users and authors within Movable Type to maintain a list of links in a blogroll. Through a simple to use user interface, and a few template tags you can publish these lists in a snap. For each item, MT Blogroll keeps track of a link’s URI, Name, Description, Relationship and category and more! If you have used another Blogroll manager for example blogrolling.com or blo.gs, you can import those links into MT Blogroll using the Import OPML tool.

Straight quotes ( ” and ‘ ) into “curlyâ€? quote HTML entities
Backticks-style quotes (“like this”) into “curlyâ€? quote HTML entities

TypeMover is a MovableType plugin. It adds backup, restore and migration features that let you get your data in and out of your servers.
The existing Import/Export functionality included in MT is very limited. It only includes the most basic content, it is very slow, and it is very easy to make mistakes and import your data too many times.
TypeMover backs up and restores all your weblog data, including settings, templates, categories, authors, notification subscriptions, trackbacks and pings.
It is also faster and safer.
You can use TypeMover to backup any MT server you have FTP access to, and to restore any backup into the server TypeMover is running on. You can’t backup a server without having FTP access, even the server where TypeMover is running.
Define custom fields that will appear on the entry editing screen and author profile screens. This allows you to store far more things about an entry or author for example you can now create complex author profiles. CustomFields also allows you to define author archives.
Integrate your site with the new gada.be metasearch service, just by using template tags to provide links right on your entry pages.
