Going.com gets $5 million

Going.com, an event-driven social networking site (I can’t stand the term hyperlocal), has raised $5 million in funding from General Catalyst and Highland Capital.
I wrote about Going, which was previously named Heyletsgo, last fall, when I had a chance to meet with the founding team. Congrats to Roy, Rebecca and the rest of the Going team!

I didn’t see a way to reach you off-blog, so sorry for the promotion…. but you might want to check out AmericanTowns.com. I’m doing some consulting work with them. They are, dare I say it, “hyperlocal.” They’re now in 10,000 towns nationwide and getting prepped to go fully national. They’re based in Fairfield, CT and the guys would be happy to speak with you.
All best, Gordon.
