Radiohead new Album in 10 days!

Radiohead In RainbowsI am happy today. Ecstatic, even. The best band in the world is releasing a new record in 9 days. You can get it for free, or $12, or $8,700, pay whatever you like. The NY Times has more, great comments too:

I paid $7 for it this morning and I haven’t liked them since Kid A. I could barely contain the excitement when I read about this, having worked in the record industry for many years. Having no label to stop them, they have single-handedly sent out the biggest f-you to the greedy old men who ruined a great business. Congrats guys!

Second-best quote:

Note to Eddie Vedder: *this* is how you attack the system, you sniveling wanker.

Seeing Radiohead is as close to a religious (musical) experience as I’m ever going to have. Even better than the recording industry getting what’s coming to them. The game has changed, this time for good.

Go buy In Rainbows and support great music at name-your-own prices. (Note: site is slow due to incredible amount of traffic, check back if it’s grinding gears.)
