Mark your calendar’s, Wednesday, June 30 is International Delete Your MySpace Account Day. Make sure to read the list the many ways in which MySpace had failed the guy who is organizing the day. I share is frustration with almost all his issues, although I have to keep my profile up for work stuff, unfortunately.

It’s that time again.
We a€™re a little over a week away from the first Web Innovators Group meeting of 2008 on Tuesday January 29thstarting at 6:30pm. We have another solid lineup of startups demo’ing at the event… the main presentations to the entire crowd will start at 7pm, thirty minutes after we open the Grand Ballroom at the Royal Sonesta in Cambridge:
As a new feature, we’ll be introducing the opportunity for the crowd to vote for the “Audience Choice — the favorite Main Dish demonstrating company of the event.
Following those presentations, each of our side dish demonstrators will have an opportunity to give a quick 30-second overview of their service to the audience followed by a showcase of their companies at tables spread throughout the periphery of the room during the unstructured networking portion of the evening:
As always, everyone who is interested in web and mobile innovation is encouraged to attend the free event. Please RSVP (and find additional details) on the event page (http://webinno16.eventbrite.com/) if you plan to join us so we are able to print name tags and appropriately size the room.
This is great news. I met most of the OpenID leaders at the Identity Conference at Harvard. While there are a number of usability and safety issues to address, the adoption rate for OpenID is taking off, slowly but surely. What is it up to now, 100+ million people? Problem is, most people don’t know what OpenID is, even if they have one.

Continuing my workflow optimization, I’ve dumped NetNewsWire for Google Reader. NNW is a great app that I’ve used since day one, but since reading Steve Rubel’s post Become a Knowledge Management Ninja with Google Reader, I decided to take the plunge. I’ll report back my experience with Google Reader, send in those tips and tricks in the meantime.
I’ve been spending time with Omnifocus and Things, trying to pick the GTD app that works best for me. Today I found out about Midnight Desktop, which is like Mail.app on steroids, and lets you store files along with email. All three applications are a bit rough around the edges, hopefully by the summer they will be stable and solid enough to use full time.
Been a bit slow around here, will be posting more now that the holiday’s are past. Check out the Belkin Podcast Studio over at CrunchGear. Looks like a real winner for those of us who are constantly looking for the optimum podcast production environment.
