Last night I went to the PaidContent Boston Mixer overlooking the Boston Harbor. Got to meet Rafat Ali and ran into my blog publisher at Corante, Hylton Joliff, who was sporting his new wedding ring. You can see me standing next to the column on the right in this photo, talking to some HBS superstars. Lot’s of VC at the event, although only two people cheered when Raft asked who was doing deals tonight. Typical button-downed Boston.
Wednesday night was spent at the MIT Stata Center, designed by Frank Gehry. The occasion was the MIT Enterprise Forum’s “Software 2.0: Turn & Burn on a Dimeâ€? event, where the focus was on the changes in the software industry in Boston, raising less is raising more, and a good panel of recently funded startups, some of which were only a year old and already sold. Afterwards, it was beers up in the R&D Pub, fun to take the stairs instead of the elevator, to check out the lack of any 90-degree angles, funky building materials and peeking into some of the labs.
