I have mixed emotions about Google snapping up Feedburner, the RSS feed management service I’ve been a paying member of since day one. A nice exit for people like Brad Feld but I hope Google doesn’t do something like close down new signups like they did with JotSpot, which has been closed to new signups for what seems like forever.
I’ve been checking out Yahoo Pipes and came across this noindex feature for Pipes in Feedburner. They got that up pretty fast. Pipes are going to be amazing once the documentation is up and the expand the core set, right now it’s pretty clunky if you’re not versed in unix pipes. I don’t understand why they launch a product without decent documentation. Why risk turning off more people than it turns on?
After messing around with several semi-functioning Feedburner plugins for WordPress, I came across the aptly titled Feedburner Plugin 1.0 for WordPress. I’m still trying to figure out how to get the comment feed working but other than that install and you’re off. I wish more plug-ins were this simple.
